Hi all

I've recently sold my 2004 Carrera Banshee and want to replace it with a new full suspension bike. I want to spend upto £600ish and want a decent allround full sus bike. Open to all sugestions and would love a good deal such as a last years bike. Thanks in advance.

I think you prolly have missed bargain 2010 bikes.

Cheapest fully on wiggle is £899.

Cheapest fully on chainreaction is £699

This is probably the best place to look at your budget or buy a good used bike:

Did like the look of some of the bikes i must admit, Would someone 6ftish manage on a 16" though? my last bike was a 17.5 inch and seemed ok.

Depends on the bike but I suspect a 16 would be too small? Considering I'm 5'8" and go for a 16 or so...

No shops near where you can try size out?

17.5"-19.5" I'd say

This looks OK:

Does it have to be brand new? If not, there's normally a few good deals to be had in the PH classifieds...

£600 is pushing it for a new FS to be honest... If you can up it to £750 then that brings the '09 Carrera Banshee X and Boardman FS Comp into play - at 6' you'd want the 19" Carrera and probably the 18" Boardman (I'm the same height and those were the sizes that fit me best).

Another option is the Giant Yukon FX2 at £425 - http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b... - leaves you a bit of money to fit an air fork and some better brakes.

Probably too small, depending on the geometry of the frame and who you like the bike set up. I'm on an 18" RC405 and to be honest it's a bit too small for my 6 foot height.

Time was (about 2 years ago) when if anyone wanted a FS for less than £1000 I would have told them to keep saving / buy a HT, but I still think £600 is too small a budget.

You might get lucky on a Boardman on a Halfords sale, but I think the classifieds or eBay would be a better bet.
