Inners are for flash function, as a Xenon is too slow to react for this function.
Umm, not sure you're quite right there chap. My Xenons flash and as I said above, on an E93 series the inner ones might be cornering lights and nothing else. Can't be certain of course as we don't know the full options list of the car, OP needs to stick his VIN into http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html to figure out exactly what he's got.Quick vid of cornering lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuwd91ohecg

Not sure they do anything, they appear to be there for symmetry with the non Xenon versions.

Yeah, I think that's it with halogens but the OP has Xenons which suggests that he might have the adaptive system as well which uses the inner lights as cornering lamps. However, I don't know when this function was introduced. His car is a 2007 so it may be that he has Xenons but no adaptive system (they now come together as one package) therefore the inner lights may still be non-functional but equally they may not. Trouble is, the cornering lamp function isn't immediately obvious when you're sat in the car and if you didn't know you had it it'd be quite easy to not notice. The OP needs to stick his VIN in the link I posted above to find out what options he has, post it here and we can tell him. Failing that, he sticks his lights on and gets someone to stand in front of his car and watch what happens when he turns his steering wheel.Dave

Mine is a 2011 and they do nothing that I can spot.. The bi-xenon is limited to the outer lamps.

That's really odd. I specced my 2010 with the visibility package so maybe the adaptive bit and xenons were separate after all. Either way I ended with the cornering lights as described. How did you spec yours?Dave
I just had a quick look at the BMW car configurator and my mistake, they are still separate so you could (and still can) order xenons without the adaptive system. The adaptive system is included in the visibility package which is why I've got it as I specced the package when I ordered the car. The adaptive system includes the cornering inner lamp system as well as the main headlights following the road, etc. It would still be useful for the OP to stick his VIN result up so he can know definitively, looks like he's buggered off though..

I would do this but I don't know where to get my vin from bar windscreen and it's dark out there. Mine is a 2011 model . Quick vid of cornering lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuwd91ohecg
