Hi, I'm travelling from Gatwick (North) a week on Tuesday and am trying to find where the best place is to stay.

Ideally I'd like to stay overnight Monday and then leave the car at the hotel whilst we're away on our honeymoon. As it's a bit of a special trip, low cost isn't my primary concern...more a decent hotel and as near as possible the airport to cut down in transfer times.
Therefore, somewhere that does a decent dinner would be a bonus. I think there are hotels attached to both terminals, are they any good, and worth the extra cost?

Thanks for any help and advice

Sofitel is at the North terminal, Hilton at the South. With the train between the two, they are equally convenient and the Sofitel is the nicer hotel. Parking is usually off-site with shuttle buses.

I've stayed at the Copthorne Effingham, shuttle buses run from there to Gatwick regularly, it's about 20 mins away, the Park/Sleep/Fly package is cheap.

Highly recommend the Sofitel, stayed there New Years Eve for a flight following day.Good rooms, staff and food,if you're that way inclined ask for a runway view.A 2 minute walk undercover and you're in the terminal. We booked direct, not through Sofitel website but the hotel itself as they have varying special offers from time to time.

Langshott Manor may be worth a shout.

The hotel that is connected to Gatwick by a pedestrian tunnel. Book in the night before, take the car to the parking place and book your luggage in the night before. Get up the next morning and walk across just before the flight. Sublime.

Cheers for the help and advice.

I've booked the Gatwick Sofitel Hotel. Doubt it was the cheapest, but as mentioned earlier it's for the honeymoon, so wanted something nice and also convenient. I booked direct with the hotel who (in case anyones interested) do park and fly deals, or dinner bed and breakfast deals, but not everything together.
It was only an extra fiver to do the valet park option (apparently their other car park is only 5 mins or so away) but after an 11 hour flight on the way back and then a 200 mile drive home, having the car waiting at the terminal is worth the extra few quid.

From 12 years old, children are considered as adults
With Maximum of 2 adults per room and 1 children (sic) per room HTF can you actually get 4 people into a room?

As said above by two of us above, book direct with the actual hotel, not the website or central booking office.

Do you keep the keys if you leave your car at the Sofitel on one of their packages?

No, you leave them a key in case they need to move it. Just booked mine at the weekend for this summers holiday.

I always take a spare key with me.

Good old PH, I came on to ask about hotels with parking at Gatwick and find the thread is already active.
In addition to the recommendations above, has anyone tried the Sandman Signature hotel at Gatwick as they seem to have some good deals with parking?

We always stay at Premier inn because I'm stingy and all 4 of us squeeze into a family room and because I can pig out on the full English.
