Funny, I see the situation in the same way. The CC is an all out race car to take on GT3s etc and is to be used on track not for drifting. If they wanted to be drifing, the Viper isn't designed for that. The Viper is in the same league as GT, Gallardo, GT2, Z06, none of those cars are designed for drifting or to be used in drifting campaigns. If their going to show drifting ads and attract the drift crowd (teenagers to high 20s, although I'm not into drifting) then they should use some other car which is designed for that market (teenagers for one can't afford a Viper, and the teenage demographic are interested in drifting).
But their attracting people who would buy Japanese cars (when theres nothing wrong the Viper - except no GTS/R
) to make them loyal enthusiasts from a young age on when their vulnerable and buy a Viper when their older and using word of mouth to attract such enthusiasts...at least that's how I got into Vipers and Corvettes.So exactly what car is actually designed for drifting? What's more, I would think a large horse power, rear drive car would be quite good at drifting?
Surely, its up to the individual to take whatever car he has to whatever motorsport event he wants...or are all 'young' people supposed to have Japanese cars?

True, carmakers don't use drifing as a pre-requisite or design criteria for a car.
A good drift car isn't actually planned to be one, then. However, a 200SX is a good drift car because it is relatively small and lightweight, with RWD. The Viper is bigger and heavier which puts it at a disadvantage, although if it's taking part in drifting footage it must do quit well (shooting myself in the foot).

It is up to the individual what car they use. Not all individuals want to or do buy Japanese cars. This is ignorant of me and pretty stereotypical but I do want to break the stereotypes as much as you or anyone else does. I suppose I'm being hypocritical but unintentionally. Sorry I'll admit when I'm wrong or mistaken and I am...
