Bought these, as I figured my halogens were getting a bit old (had them five years)

Did you originally have halogen Lumi's? One of our group recently upgraded from halogen units to the LED one and it's VERY bright, and I think he retained his battery/charger from the halogens. Good option if you already have the bits.
I still insist that Ay-Up LEDs are the "new" Lumicycle though: modular, robust, reliable, good design, good company

For the cash I'd have one of the Exposure lights over the lumi, personally.
