I stand to be corrected but something buried in the old grey cells tells me that a lot of "press / test car" Fords of that era had number plates ending in OO
found this on a ford site, might helpFord would have registered their cars in the Dagenham VLO which was designation area for oo, so press and management cars would get the OO sequence, along with a lot of Privilege cars too.

Absolutely correct.Where I used to live, quite close to Warley, our next door neighbour was the Ford Head Chauffeur. He used to bring home quite a few 'project'cars in the late sixties.Stuff like the first V6 engined Capri, a very tasty Corsair, dark green with beige vynal roof and interior.Mk2Cortina with similar treatmeant but finished in Aubergine and black interior. Then there were the mk1 Escort rally cars. All with the oo reg.Would love to know where the first three cars mentioned are now.Originally they were built for the then executive's, so were very nicely equiped, Minilites were mandatory.Ford would have registered their cars in the Dagenham VLO which was designation area for oo, so press and management cars would get the OO sequence, along with a lot of Privilege cars too.
