£600 ladies watch...
Discussion
Hello,
I’m looking to buy my wife a watch for her birthday however I am not all that clued up on them. The budget is £600 but is seems to be a really strange price bracket as nothing really sits at that price.
I am looking for a simple is watch like the TAG MINI LINK QUARTZ as it is a simple design only without the price tag. Does anyone have ideas?
Gucci seem to do some ok looking watches like this http://www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstore/d/6728898/g+...
However I’m no sure if Gucci watches are any good…

Same price as the Gucci. I bought one of these for my mum a few yrs back, they seem to have gone up in price quite a bit since I bought though

What about one of these, a step away from the traditional TAG/Omega/Gucci you always see

Do you have any idea as to what she would like? There are many styles out there, and whilst we could recommend certain watches and discuss the virtues of one brand over another ultimately if she doesn't like the look of it then it may not get worn. Is this to replace an excisting watch?
Anyway, my GF noticed this yesterday http://www.oris.ch/collections/collections_detail.... pretty sure that it was bang on the £600 mark as well

Hi all,
Many thanks for yor replies. Work call just after posting so had tto sort that first.
The watch is to replace a broken watch. This watch was very much like a large bangle but I know she would like a non fussy watch with not much, if any, sparkle.
The Lady 99 watch looks nice as does th Longines Dolcevita but they are so different! The longines-primaluna also looks nice and looks almost in budget, Is Longinesa good make? I'm house bound today but will go looking this week and see what might work.

The Longines is a quartz. I am not questioning the brand. Available on most high streets.
The Glashuette is mechanical with an ETA movement, IMO a bit more watch for your money, but perhaps lesser known from a brand point of view. Don't know who supplies them in the UK.
My summary would be it's a heart over head decision between these 2.
(FWIW I'm looking to replace the wife's Omega seamaster at the mo with something nicer. It's surpising how few ladies watches are about, as such am thinking about a small diameter gents watch...)

Does it need to be new?
If not there is plenty on offer. I went for a Tudor Oysterdate Princess.
Really for £600? Where from, that sounds like a good dealIf not there is plenty on offer. I went for a Tudor Oysterdate Princess.

It was $500 plus import tax and could do with a service so around £450 all in once serviced. Nice piece with original bracelet.
