Kitchen knives sharpening?
Discussion
Have the steel that came with the set (Viners?) but don't think I've mastered the art of using it.
So, thinking of the likes of the AnySharp, since it does the serrated bread knife as it's cheap enough on the Bay, but do like the fancy looking Scanpan 3 grade one - but it is almost 3x the price!
Advice greatfully appreciated for gypo knives not used all that often.

Google will give you links to any number of videos showing you how to sharpen a knife with a steel. It's not difficult. I've never found the need to sharpen a bread knife. If you find your bread knife won't cut through your bread check that you are in fact holding a loaf and not a housebrick.

I use a Minosharp - an excellent piece of kit.
Me too.http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=searc...
According to the gourmands on the Food forum a Misono No.511 Gyuto 180mm is jolly good: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=19...
Mind you I prefer the No.513 myself

Decided to slum it, and went with this - http://ant-supplies.co.uk/smiths.aspx (first one)
We'll see if it's been a waste of a fiver or not (eBay seller).
With a knife set worth less than some of your cheaper knives, I could't justify the Mr Global one suggested.
