Just wondering how people dealt with complaints from regular customers

do you look more favourably towards the complaint hence more likely to compensate knowing that they'll carry on buying from you?

or would you treat them the same as every other complaint regardless of the custom?

It depends on the individual complaint.

It depends on whether the complaint is reasonable/justified, and while I'm deciding what action to take, how pleasant they are about it. Nice people will get a better result than stampy shouty people.

Theory suggests you have no business without satisfied customers. In the current climate I'd be surprised if every customer wasn't treated as if their satisfaction was the final determinant as to whether one's business survived or not.
