I'm looking for a new watch with a budget of around £300. I don't know much about watches and so far I've only really been looking at Seiko's.

- I want something with a stainless strap.
- I would prefer something with a black face, however I could be persuaded to go for a blue or white face.
- I've got pretty skinny wrists so I don't want a face bigger than 40mm.
- I quite like the idea of a watch without a battery. I also like the idea of a perpetual calender because I don't think I've ever remember to change the date on my watch, but neither of these are essential.

At the moment my favourite is the Seiko SNP003P1

Anybody got any other suggestions?

I have a Seiko 5M42 and it's been fantastic. It was a birthday present and I clacked the glass on a wall about 2 days after being given it which caused a slight bit of damage, I was gutted and my folks sent it away to Seiko and they sent me a brand new replacement. I cant rate it highly enough really, the face on mine stores light for a daft amount of time, I can basically find my way around an unlit room with it on, my wife has to cover it at night because it glows for so long. The winding mechanism feels slightly primitive compared to high end watches but I have no complaints about the quality.
