Reason I ask is today I got a bit lost today and was cycling down the thames path as I could see where I wanted to get to (Hammersmith) but not how to, anyway before I knew it I was faced with a 4 set of steps and had to jump down them as if I had braked I'd have fallen off... There wasn't any noises etc, and all seemed to be fine, just a bit worried that I've put to much pressure on it...!

I think it'll be alright: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z1fSpZNXhUhehe

Seriously though, I'd expected it to either buckle wheels/snap something instantly, or be right as rain. Seems like yours is the latter.

Didn't spot you, but probably. I was pottering across the park on the way home at about 6pm.

Still commuting in Jeans and Jumper, don't see the point in getting the Lycra out unless I'm going for a proper ride!

Yeh, I thought you might have noticed me, perhaps not hehe

Where are you riding from and to now?

I'll keep my eyes peeled a bit better in future!

Streatham to Teddington and back each day, ~12 miles each way. You?

I'd have thought the issue would be down to how you "landed" it. If your knees and legs acted as effective shock absorbers, you could get away with it...

Sounds like you did...

Surbiton to White City, similar miles.

Yeh, I often use the middle path I saw you on.

My carbon Giant got ridden to the BSB last year where I enjoyed a day of corporate hospitality and attempted to ride home, but not before wheelying and backhopping out of the paddock. To my surprise it remains in one piece. They're tougher than you think!

have taken my road bike out on bridlepaths before, its all down to the quality of wheels, how well built they are and how good you are at keepnig the front end light. so much fun though, highly recommend it, you get funny looks from the mtbers but also their respect...
