Yep, that one, NIce chap, very nice bike.

Preperation for an assault on Mount Ventoux in late spring, am now riding it to work and back (around 50m per day) with some good hills along the way. Work has excellent showers & lockers so no problem there.

Bought the shoes today, fitted the cleats and had a little ride up and down the road practising (my first time in clips) seems ok - no dramas so far. Evening getting lighter and I am around a stone too heavy.

Now for Mount Ventoux, aside from needing to buy some Brandy and a decent amount of Amphetamines what could possibly go wrong.

I really hope you didn't just pay over £800 for an 8 year old bike

As said - that is not what I paid.

Plus it is light years ahead of what I have been on, it has basically never been used, everything on it is perfect.

Plus the extras like the wheels can't have been on the bike when the original owner bought it. Looks like he spent quite a bit upgrading it so a nice bit of kit for £800, or less biggrin

Edited to say ooops! just seen that it came with the wheels and everything else back in 2003.

Thanks

I nearly posted on here prior to doing the deal, to ask a couple of opinions, but was a little worried someone might get in their first (ok that now seems unlikely) but also, you know how this goes everyone defends their own decision. The only right bike is that one thats right for you, I guess.

Would I like a 2011 Cube Streamer - fk Yeah. but I can't justify the cash (next year)

For your sake I hope is was sub £500.

Also the wheels don't get rave reviews, don't want to piss on your bonfire although I know I am, but I fear you've been done a bit frown

Thanks possibly a little naive then, however - I do really like the bike. (not 500 but not 700 either somewhere in the middle)

Not sure I'd be able to tell the difference on the wheels - I'll post some photos of the Ventoux expedition in May...
