If anyone has one of these can you help?

Almost getting a G5 909 3 bike tow mounted thule carrier + 1x extender 9081 so it will carry 4 bikes but read one review that ladies bikes may need an adaptor between the handle bar and seat so the thurle arm can grip it. Is this true?

As I have 3 x girls ages 3-6 and a wife + my bike which is a normal mans bike of course ! Im now thinking that the thurle arm wont connect to their bikes as they are too low down (do the arms extend) and also as they are girl bikes and will all need the adaptor what do you think?

So do the arms extend and twist?
is an adapter rqd for girls bikes?

I've got a similar rack, and I think you can move the arms down onto the sides of the hoop, so you might be able to attach the bike using the seatpost, but don't quote me on that, as I haven't tried it myself.

you can definitely more the arms on to the sides of the hoop for connecting to a seat post. I've also carried one ladies bike fine without any adapter - a normal arm from the top of the loop worked fine - just had it coming under the other cross bars.

Might depend on how all your bikes fit together and their relative sizes though - not sure you could get more than 1 or 2 arms linking to seat posts.

I'd say get the rack and try the bikes before buying any adapters though, as you might not need any, or not as many as you think.

The 909 is tops by the way - got mine a weeks back and it's by far the best way of moving bikes about. thumbup

Thanks for the help.

We had a look at a 909 and due to the small size of the childrens bikes the arms wouldnt connect. An adaptor was reqd for my wifes as well. So we have gone for a new type from halfords tow mounted for 4 bikes and straps for £140. So relativly cheap n cheerful but works fine with all the bikes.

We have roof mounted bike holders by Thule but as we now have a LR disco I could not get them up that high so cant use them.
