Hi, want to get some new PC speakers, but not quite sure what to get.
I have seen the Bose Companion 3 in Comet, the sound is incredible considering its a 2.1 system and have decided if i can get that kind of sound from 2.1 i would rather opt for that instead of 5.1
Problem is the Bose are well out of my price range as they are around £300 in Comet and around £150 on Ebay.
What i would like is something with good quality sound but below £100 and also something that look half decent.
The Harmon Kardon Soundsticks look lovely but not seen them in action so not sure what the sound quality is like and whether its all about looks, they can also be had within my budget.
Anything else i should consider?
What is everyone else using, forgot to add these will be connected to the PC mainly and every now and again connected to the MBP

I'd normally recommend a logitech something or other but I really can't be doing with the stupid amounts of wiring they have anymore.

I've just dumped mine and blown the dust off my Harman Kardon Soundsticks and they sounds pretty damn good. I'd recommend them to anyone smile

Yup my current system is a 5.1 Cambridge Soundworks setup, but the wiring is getting on my nerves and have realised that modern 2.1 systems sound as good if not better then my 5+ year old system.

So the soundsticks sound as good as they look then, its not all about making them pleasing to the eye then?

They're not audiophile quality, but they sound pretty damn good to me. For a couple of little speakers they pack a meaty enough punch, sub offers enough bass to be useful. I'd have binned them if they were rubbish smile

M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 - should be about £100 quid.

Sounds like they are the ones to get then, just realised they have a new version, the mark 3 for just over my budget

Have a listen to some jbl creatures, Ive had some for a year or so I'm pretty sure they were less than 100 quid, sound pretty well for the money
