Hi , I've got an old Rega circa 1998 set up (CD,amp and speakers) which is currently sitting in my workshop. I'm thinking of using the system again and am planning on just bringing it indoors and letting the unit acclimatise to the house and then plug it in.
Is this the best way or should I get the units serviced before connecting up ? The set up hasn't been used for about 7 years or would it just be better for me to get rid and just buy a new system ?
Cheers
Toby

How have they been stored?
It can be a bit worrying if they've been exposed to much moisture so it would be worth letting them dry out somewhere for a few weeks. If you're so inclined, open up the cases and inspect the boards to look for any signs of ingress discolouration.
It's certainly worth keeping hold of. Whilst their systems were never regarded as ground-breaking, the Planet CD player was a nice little machine in it's time (which is what you may have) so check it otu and fire it up.
