I have an arc marked hdmi input on my Panasonic tv. Does this mean I can feed my sources ie Virgin and Ps3/atv to my tv and use the ARC cable to go back to my onkyo hdmi amp, so only having one hdmi going to the amp feeding all sound? Also will this feed be 3d sound ie hdmi 1.4 compatible? Thanks in advance for any advice.

In theory yes! We've had a few issues with certain cable/amp/TV combos whereby the sound didn't work and we just reverted to toslink rather than try and cure it, but that is how it is meant to work!

Just be aware that cable boxes and SKY boxes only output stereo from their HDMI, so if you HDMI SKY to the TV then use the ARC back to the Amp Sky will only be in Stereo, for 5.1 you still need the optical. Im not sure if the TV will pass 5.1 from an HDMI input to the ARC output, with previous experience I doubt it does.

Virgin Media pass 5.1 over HDMI, the SA box does anyway.
