Superficial damage done while at bike shop -
Discussion
Hi all
This may sound pedantic and not worth the fuss considering it's quite minor to some, however I took my bike to the local bike shop for a new BB to be fitted.
On picking the bike up I noticed a chunk of paint taken out on the handlebars (white) in which some paint was applied by the shop
Come forward today (a day after pick up) and I notice that on one of the down tube stickers/logos are some scratches (I'm guessing where clamped in stand?!)and you can see the blue paint underneath, it's only about 1cm but it bothers me as like most I know every inch of my bike and prior to this the frame was spotless, plus I thought bike shops would treat it with some degree of care.
If the mark was more substantial I'd probably skip posting this on here and head straight back to shop but well i'm doing what some of us so best in these situations....turn to an internet forum.
So, am I being a big gayer!

FWIW, it pisses me off too.
I do more of my own service because of this, although with recent changes in personnel, my LBS is far better. However, the service guys are always very pressured - for every scheduled job, they'll probably have to stop at least once to attend an 'emergency' - and so they aren't always working in a perfect situation.

I don't see why they should scratch your bike, even minimally so, while it's in their care. YOU don't scratch it when working on it and they probably have all the right stands and enough work-space to avoid falling over it.
I'd mention it - be friendly and see what they propose. If nothing, you don't go back there, but you might get some touch-up paint or some free/cheap accessories. No need to get upset with them other than expressing your disappointment.
