Guys

What tops/jackets/jerseys combinations are you all wearing in the warmer weather?

I'm only really used to wearing a baselayer with a waterproof jacket which when i'm leaving for work (6.30/7) is fine as its only approx 5 degrees and there's still a little chill in the air, but cycling back or on a day off when its 15-20 degrees, i find i clearly don't need the jacket and the baselayer is the wrong type of top as well.

Do you guys just go out in a variation of short/long sleeve jerseys in the warmer weather?

Also (probably a stupid question) does the temperature ranges for jerseys mean that this is the ideal temp ranges to wear this type of clothing?

Thanks

No useful info from this callsign. I seem to get it wrong every time. I've tried various combinations in various weather conditions, but always seem to end up over/under dressed. The thing is, there are plenty of clothing items to cover the gaps, but I can't really justify forking out on expensive arm and leg warmers, gillets, etc. When Tesco/Aldi etc start selling reasonably priced technical kit to go with their shorts/jerseys/jackets, I might dip into the wallet, but until then I'll just continue with my waterproof jacket, long sleeve jersey, short sleeve jersey, and base layer, in various combinations, and hope that just once in a while, the clothing combination and the weather will conspire to keep me comfortable out on the road.

Merino baselayer and normal summer/SS jersey at the mo', in unison with bibshorts. It works amazingly well: keeps the sunrise/sunset chill off, yet stops you getting all sweaty when it's at its warmest. Add some merino armwarmers, and you'd be sorted...

For MTBing:

Merino baselayer (short sleeved down to 5 degrees, long sleeved below), Endura Stealth jacket (VERY warm!), Singletrak 3/4 length shorts, Sealskinz merino socks. Insulated gloves below 5 degrees, normal full length gloves above. And a hat. And shoes.

Todays ride 9-14 degrees
Merino base layer, bib shorts and a short sleeved top supported by arm warmers till 10AM or so
Gilet in pocket just in case which wasnt needed

Id say Merino and arm warmers are my 2 best bits of kit
Or should that be 3 LOL

Cheers

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think i've got to look for a long sleeve and maybe a short sleeve jersey and i'd quite like some sort of windproof jacket. At least that way i've got a few options and i can see what works best when the weather is as warm as it is now smile

Cheers!
