You've got your nuts the wrong way round on those 3D+ cranks. The silver spline nut should be behind the red anodised nut, the way it is now is how you take them off (apologises if you were taking them off when you took the pic!)

Moved from powertap to p2m so I can pick and choose wheels, anyway it was easy to fit and relatively cheap as I could use the existing crank arms.

Have a genuine SRAM mount, and the quarter turn locks much tighter than the supplied garmin mounts. I'd only mount it that way around on something I'm likely to crash, much prefer having it out front so I don't drip on it.

I've got the Garmin out front mount, the SRAM and the K-Edge. The metal one is ok, but does shave a couple of lines of plastic off the Garmin Edge when you start using it. Ceases once the plastic is removed.

The Garmin out front and SRAM are similar, but one is a low arm and the other high. Sometimes cable runs determine which works best.

If you use a 910XT, beware that the mount is 90 degrees out, relative to an Edge. Only the Garmin out front lets you rotate the mount.

Two new purchases in one pic. Smith Optics Pivlock V2 Max and Bont Riot.

Picture doesn't show it well but they have a very cool purple polarised lens (plus a pink and a clear lens in the case)

New pair of Fox shorts, and fox gloves. Went out for a ride, punctured.

So another puncture repair kit was purchased...

Had this a while, but i'm using it alot at the minute so thought i'd post it. Very impressed with it, even on the mountain bike over rough terrain it's rock solid.
Annex Quad Lock Case and Mount

Shimano MO88's in wide fit;

MET Veleno in white;

Some clobber from Decathlon, the bibs aren't all that comfortable, it's probably an area where I shouldn't be cutting costs, but the shorts, tops and socks are great value for money.

Yes, you're right, I was taking the arm back off but thanks for picking it up! Not much gets past this crew smile

I've gone for some GP 4 Seasons 28mm for my commuter bike, and a Charge Spoon to replace the God-awful B-Twin one it came with. I've given it three months, and I'm fed up with it. Interesting to see whether the 28s have an impact on rolling resistance - I reckon they'll at least make it comfier.

Oh, and whilst it's not strictly a "bike bit", an iPhone 4s. Turns out you really should keep your phone in the zipped pocket of your jersey, and not the loose side ones.

fk it.

Best thing I did this year was put 28c on my bike. I found a massive increase in comfort and speed wise didn't notice a massive difference. Well worth it just for the ride. Stuck them on the Venge as well, they only just fit but it turns it into a different bike.

Jolly good - I'm intrigued to see what it's like (having only ever ridden 23c). I was going for 25s, but Wiggle had sold out, and it was an extra tenner to get them from Chain Reaction, so I thought I'd have a go at the 28s.

If they're that good (as you say) then I might get them for the CAAD as well.

My summer bike has dreadful clearance at the back and I can only live with 23mm. I tried 25mm but a gnat got his cock stuck in the gap.

Birthday pressies from wife. The Five Tens are finally being retired and I'm joining the 'falling off due to learning to ride with SPDs' club.

On seconds thoughts, maybe she actually wants me to impale myself on a tree?!

Couldnt agree more. Dont think 28's will fit but 25's are certainly a better ride.

Update on the loose Garmin. I was looking at it last night and one of the lugs has sheared off. It has just enough to hold it in place frown

So off to the Garmin forum and there was a thread running

I spoke to CS this morning and generated an RMA. You can get a replacement for £80 if out of warranty or, if like me you have already been through seven (yes seven) of them they might arrange something for you. A bit fed up with this under-engineered piece of crap but Garmin have stood behind it all the way, so all credit to them. It's just unfortunate the ball ache you have to go through each time to set everything back up.

Be careful using non Garmin mounts, they will probably not cover your replacement. Another thread suggested shaving a few thou' off of the out front mount to reduce the height and load on the lugs. It's crazy that the mounting lug is not a separate assembly which can be changed, maybe a harder plastic vs the mount. Basic engineering.

To date I haven't seen more than 13 months of continuous service from any of my 800's, it's pretty poor really.

edit and tether the device to your bars if you can, it will save you a ton of grief.

Crappy Garmin quality.
You thought about trying something like Sugru to fashion a better and more reliable fix? Amazing stuff.
