As I've come to the realization once a week riding isn't enough to achieve my goals I've set myself I've been on a bit of a spending spree.

2 of these for the MTB

A set of these for the weekend rides.

A pair of these with a T shirt, as I'm fed up with either tight jeans around my legs or having to buy a size up from what I need.

Still got a new lid to buy now, but I'm hanging fire until a pro team release their sponsor and rider list as I also have 1 of their 2015 jerseys on order smile They just released the sizing and I don't think it will ever fit me, so it looks like I'll be getting it signed and end up with a very expensive jersey on my wall.

One of these:-

after my Cateye 'Hand grenade' died and after being given arc-eye by MadDad's light on a recent ride.

I know, the shame.

It just didn't want to go on closer without rubbing.

It was like it last year too frown

A C&B Seen city slicker front light http://www.candb-seen.co.uk/bikehead-lights/city-s...

I don't want the fuss of all the cables that most of the lights come with but I'm hoping to be be able to see a fair bit better than the candle thats currently fitted.

I'd be interested to hear your opinion on this when it arrives as I'm debating ordering their front+rear set.

I didn't buy 'bits' per se over the weekend. I did buy degreaser and lube though. I spent a couple of hours thoroughly cleaning the chain, sprockets, and anything else I could. Re-lubed and then reset the brakes and suspension.

Cycled to work today on what felt like a new bike. smile

A dirt cheap "Wolfbike" flouro gilet from eBay. Under £9.

And a cheap USB ANT+ stick, also from eBay. £8.

Just spent a fortune on Lezyne lights and a couple of winter jerseys from Howies and Morvelo (small is REALLY small) but the above balances things out a bit. Any savings will go towards my upcoming Trainer Road subscription...

I got it this morning and I'm impressed so far. It appears to be very well made. It's lighting the office up well even though the lights are on here. If it's not raining tonight I will give it a test.

I've finally had enough of the Hayes HFX Nines that are past their best and proving a nuisance so a set of Shimano SLX arrived from discount-bike today for a bargain £88 inc delivery!!

Another Maxxis Minion rear tyre is also on route as i'm finding the high roller a little less stable in the real wet gunky mud.

Last on the list are some new DMRs - I looked at plenty of other pedals but to be honest V8s have done me for the last 15 years so why change now.

I went out with it last night and I'm very happy with it. Build quality appears very good at least externally, I've not opened it up to have a look on the innards of it. The only slight criticism is that its very slightly wobbly on the mount but it's not an issue really.

I took some photos of the light that it puts out. These were on my phone so it's not as good as the amount of light that your eyes can pick up but it gives a good example.

1st with my original light - it didn't seem quite that dark but it proves there's no other sources of light, you can see the reflective sign in the distance.

2nd on low

3rd on medium

4th on high

I regret not going for the back light at the same time.

Would love to see a build thread of this. Was just saying to a friend today I'd like to build a cheap singlespeed for my commute plus for fun off road.
