Went into Tescos in Shirley, and the half wit security guard told me to remove my cycle helmet, i asked him why and he said he did not know, but management had told him to tell people to.
I looked around for a Baseball cap or even better a Burka to point at, but none around so walked out...

Half wit has probably been asked to ensure people remove their "bike" helmets, not realising it was intended for motorbikers only.

They can sling that attitude too. It's a PITA taking your lid off and lugging around, especially when you're a galsses wearer.

Never shop at Tescos on principle, all supermarkets screw their suppliers but Tesco are the worst and lead the way

Saying, apologetically, that you'd love to, but you don't have your yarmulka on you, and its against your faith to go bareheaded has worked for me a couple of times biggrin

That's capitalism which I happen to agree with.

I will now be joining your boycot, Ironballs. Reason being their provision of air/water at their fuel forecourts. Bought some fuel a couple of days ago and wanted to top up with screenwash/water. Looked on the (relatively small for a garage) motoring related shelf, but couldn't see any. Outside, the reason became apparent. Instead of selling you a bottle of screenwash, then allowing you to choose the dilution ratio for the conditions by topping up with YOUR CHOICE of water quantity, they now require you to put a pound in for a pre-mixed quantity of screenwash. Even if you have a bottle of concentrate, you can't top up the reservoir because the hose for the (free) water is too short and there is no jug. It's bad enough that you now have to pay for air almost everywhere, but I accept that there are costs involved in running and maintaining a compressor, but water is delivered to site at sufficient pressure to allow it to be dispensed at no further cost to the retailer. This continued withdrawal of basic facilities at service stations is pure profiteering and is a step too far. Basic things essential to safe motoring include windscreen washing fluid and correctly inflated tyres, so why doesn't legislation force the Fuel Bandits to supply them at every filling station and service area?

moan Rant over, and way, way off topic, I know, but.......... irked

Why should they? It's YOUR responsibility to ensure your vehicle is safe, not theirs.

They are eliteist in Tesco now. Your increased capacity lardy american helmet has been modified and so no longer can be defined as original specification hence the problem.
