Anyone else doing the Isle of Wight Randonee tomorrow? For those who haven't done it before it's a 100k (or 60k)circuit of the island on quiet roads. Free to enter and can enter on the day. They alternate the direction, this year it's anti-clockwise which I haven't done before so should be different. I'm doing it on my 1960's Viking with just 5 closeish gears so might be walking some of the hills. See you there?

Excellent day out with my son. I was right about the hills although I only had to walk a couple where I ran out of gears. A bit windy for most of the route too altough the final stretch from Cowes to Yarmouth was nice with a brisk tail wind.
Star of the day was an old guy in a stripey jumper and beret on a 1920's bike with two gears. Pedal forwards for high gear and pedal backwards for low gear. We were with him most of the day and didn't see him walk anything.
