Going wireless with my G20

Right, so, the TV is too far from the router to run a cable. If I get a USB wireless adapter, and plug it in to the TV I can get online.
Do I get a browser type thing so I could also plug a wireless mouse and keyboard in to surf the web?
Would I be able to watch iPlayer, 4OD and stuff directly on the TV rather than through a laptop/PC input?
Would my BD Player (Panasonic BD80) be able to use the link through HDMI to get updates etc?

Looks like it does the same as the USB thing. I don't think though, that I can do what I want, you don't get the internet on the TV just some stuff Panasonic have selected I think?

Use a homeplug adapter. This way the connection is constant and reliable. You can get them with two network plugs on them to plug in two devices or alternitavely just use a switch at the TV end. The panasonic currently has limited web access (you cant just browse) it uses apps to selected sites and products. Iplayer isn't currently on there but is on Freesat so you may be able to do it that way. The bluray player will not use the HDMI connection for updates but probably does have it's own ethernet socket so you can plug that in too.

Thanks, that's where my research had got me this morning. I'll not network either currently.

I do have an old laptop though, so will experiment with using that as my access route, hidden away with all the other ancillaries, and using a wireless keyboard and mouse should have the desired effect.

You can only get i-player via Freesat IIRC. So if you are using SKY/Virgin(?) or Freeview you won't be able to receive i-player etc.

Don't use any of that, but problem sorted (kind of). Now running a Thinkpad hidden away with a wireless keyboard/trackball. Pistonheads in 50" Plasma - lovely
