I have been looking to buy a Scuderia for some months, needing to move on a GTR first. Success this week having acquired the Grigio Ferro car at HR Owen. I also viewed the cars at Dick Lovett which I thought were overpriced by some margin. The red car is, to my mind, not presented very well with a lot of scratches, poorly applied vinyl over the stripe and significant scuffing to the drivers seat. Fantastic insurance service from First Point. Car being delivered next week - excitement mounting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DL phoned me up about their Scuderia's through the week as I had expressed an interest in a car earlier in the year....they were described as 'perfect'......

The white car at DL is very sharp apart from the rather obvious dent in the near side door! I was very suprised at the lack of attention to detail.

I quite like the idea of a scud without a stripe.
Because they have a totally different rear end I think people would still recognise it was not a normal 430.
Having said that the grigio ferro car sounds very nice. Congrats.

The stripes are painted on at the factory. If they are vinyl, I'd walk away rather quickly.....

They are painted on.
But there were a few cars which were speced without one.

I went to see a CS that had a nasty stone chip next to the stripe. It is effectively can't be repaired. I also saw another Scud which had to have the rear repainted so the back bit of the stripe is now vinyl as nobody could replicate the factory finish.

Are the Scud stripes not like the CS, vinyl but over lacquered at factory?

OP says "vinyl over the stripe", my take would be that there's a protective vinyl coating over the car

Congrats on the purchase, get some photos up when you collect and most of all enjoy driving it!
They really are a world above the normal F430, so much more fun.

Photos definitely - hopefully this week. The colour and lack of stripe are (obviously) fine with me - and offers a little restraint. When seen in sunlight the Ferro really brings out all the angles and shows the car of extremely well.

Stewart Roden Motors near Edinburgh would have no problems at all repainting the Italian tricolor stripe on my Scuderia Spider 16M should it ever need it, also Eastern Western Bodyshop in Edinburgh can do this too....some of you guys must have pretty shoddy bodyshops near you if they can't also do this! At least you now have 2 businesses that can assist should you ever need it.
