MOT EXPIRY DATE 27/03/12 - Can I drive today?

Just noticed my MOT runs out today, does the expiry date mean I can drive till midnight tonight or that it ran out @ 27/03/12:00:01? Pretty sure its the former but want to be sure before deciding which car to drive!

Thats what I figured but I don't trust the sneaky sods to grab the opportunity for an easy £60fixed penalty... But anyway from what people mentioned here, what I googled, and COMMON SENSE! I drove it anyway
