No not me! Im a good boy and my rubbish goes in the appropriate receptacle!

In my local area we now have 'environmental officers' they look like regular coppers, but they issue a fixed £80 fine for litter dropping, 3 of my friends have been done for dropping roll-ups (are they not bio-degradable?)

Does anyone else have these in their area? also has anyone heard of someone getting away with it? I heard that you do not have to legally give them your details (name etc) there fore they cannot fine you???

Excellent!

Littering is disgusting in any shape or form in my opinion.
I agree, i prefer my town nice and clean, But i dont feel that a fine is the right thing. I feel it should be a warning on a first offence, then maybe 12 hours community service of litter picking for repeat offenders.

A lot of locals are upset about these 'environment officers' because it is just seen as a method of revenue collection.

Dog st and other faeces is also biodegradable. Is that ok to leave on the public highway?
Good point! And fines for letting your dog mess anywhere are acceptable! However there are not dedicated 'dog poo officers' that i have ever seen to enforce it.

I think this may be going a little off topic here, I agree that people should not litter, and im proud that i dont. im asking if anyone has got away with it? and if its a national thing, or more just in my area?

Also the view on if the punishment is fitting of the crime???
