Advice regarding a dealer issue please
Discussion
Morning all - I would welcome the advice of the cognescenti collective please
Back storey is that I part exchanged my car plus the same value in cash for a car at a dealers, both cars in question are fifteen years old so not without some age related issues of course
Next day I receive a series of somewhat irate texts from the dealer complaining that the heater matrix is leaking and that he expects me to pay for the repair - I was not aware of the fault having only ever used the car on highways and holidays etc and the only fault I knew of was a fault on the ignition switch which I duly advised
The dealer is still persisting that I should pay for the repair and the ignition and to make matters worse appears to be holding back the V5 and tax disc following a change of the previous cherished plate
This can't be right can it as I have paid for the car in full, the V5 should now show my name following the change and I am guessing the dealer cannot pursue this further. The car he sold is not without issues but as mentioned this does go with the territory of cars of this age
Can I contact the DvLA direct and ask for copies and where do I stand with the dealer issue?
Tell him where to go I assume but I would welcome your thoughts

I hear what you are saying Chip - funny thing is that I did pose that question during the purchase discussion and was advised that he would not expect to receive any warranty from me so why should I expect to receive one from him.
I don't expect him to make good on the issues that have arisen on the car he sold me
Regards
