Or he could have been banged to rights and appreciated the civil way the officer dealt with him.

I've had the same myself where a very polite officer booked me, I was expecting the normal snotty attitude from the officer but was dealt with very politely.

They're just doing their job and if he pulls someone over who has broken the law AND is polite then he has done his job very well in my mind.

Correct,i was taking the piss, and he was more than fair, leaving me the option of an awareness course. It should have been a court appearance.
