Does VOSA have any interest /influence over a garage?

A recent purchase had had its fuel pumps replaced. Had a look at it myself to find the tank had been left unsealed and the garage had tried to bodge the whole thing together from RTV.

Diesel was flowing out of the tank top when more than 2/3rds full and making the rear end somewhat wayward.

It was a private sale, I believe the seller has been taken for a ride by this 'garage' for years.

So, is there anything I can do to get an authority of some kind engaged in inspecting their work?

Thanks!

Update: Had a chat with the garage in question this morning. The owner was pretty shocked - has promised to find out who had been working on the car.

Might be B/S - but I'll wait and see...

As for the OP and his comments, I am in complete agreement with those suggesting he is responsible for his own vehicle's safe and road worthiness.

Found tons of things bodged on the car, garage owner wasn't that forthcoming but played the 'horrified' card well...but stopped short of confirming the poor work was done there.

Have repaired it all now, just annoying that more money and t I'm me is wasted sorting out the laughably bad workmanship of another...
