I am (I think) still the proud possessor of a paper only driving licence.

I was putting a JPEG of it onto a new mobile device the other day and noticed that it says COUNTERPART LICENCE above were the endorsements would be. Is this normal, and should I have a photocard? I have been at my present address since the early 1980s and this paper licence has not been replaced since then.

Looking a little closer I see that I passed my test in 1991. I've not looked at it in detail for ages and was worried that somebody would be expecting a photocard when seeing COUNTERPART...

The classes seem to be the same as here https://www.gov.uk/changes-to-the-driving-licence-...

What may be different is that my having passed my test in 1991 legacy entitlement means I can drive rigid goods vehicles up to 7.5 T, minibuses with more than 8 passenger seats up to 16 seats and to tow trailers with them up to a maximum train weight of 12 T.

When I got my licence age 70 seemed a long, long way off. Now it is just about visible on the distant horizon.

Yes. My details are on the Beta with a start date of 1 May 1997 on Your details, but the Vehicles you can drive tab gives the date I passed my test. Also my C1E is limited to 8250kg.
