All rubbish of course... he was CAUGHT because he was driving so slowly it aroused suspicion in members of the public, and he was arrested for failing the breath test!

South Wales Evening Post said:
A businessman was arrested in his 150mph TVR classic sports car - for driving just five mph.

John Whelan, 25, took the wheel of his souped-up yellow TVR Chimera after spending the day drinking at a Brecon pub.

Brecon Magistrates Court heard how the quantity surveyor was spotted driving 5mph in a 40mph speed limit zone because he was worried about getting pulled over.

Prosecutor Lisa Jones said: "He was located by police who'd been contacted, not because he was driving too fast or swerving across the road, but because he was driving too slowly at 5mph.
However, is it ever illegal to drive slowly, if no other road user is inconvenienced?
I'm guessing there must be some threshold on a motorway at which a slow speed would be seen as dangerous... but is it simply a set speed, or speed in relation to other traffic... 40 mph seems awfully slow if you are driving at 70 in traffic?

Should it in fact BE illegal to drive a TVR at such a ridiculously slow speed? hehe
