Evening,

A few people that I know have had issues with a company when buying goods/services for not an insignificant amount of money. There have been more and more stories are coming out of the woodwork of people that have had similar issues and one rumour arose of the company possibly going into administration. I had a quick check on Companies House and found that this company is supposed to be dormant. It's definitely the correct one as the address is correct, along with the name and the owners.

How do you report something like this to HMRC? We're not talking odd jobs here and there, we're talking £100k+ turnover in a year.

They were incorporated in 2013 and have been trading from the outset. I can't find any links on how to report a company, only tell them as if I was the company returning to trading. Any pointers?

EDIT: Just found the web form on the HMRC website. Reported smile

What do mean returned to trading? If the date of incorporation was only in 2013 when was their annual return due? Has it been filed?

You also need to check their accounting reference date. It is very possible that the filing deadline has not yet been reached.

You may have jumped the gun here and could end up with egg on face.
I meant contacting HMRC as if it was myself owning a company returning to trading from being in a dormant state. No longer matters as I found the correct place to fill the form in. Returns have been filed this year.
