Just read this thread and it's got me worried.

If he's been fined for having a car that wasn't re-insured, I think I might be in the same boat.

My story is that I've got a Mini Mayfair, fairly rusty but it's got MOT and (old style) tax disc until May. I bought a newer Mini so the old one is up for sale, but I'm in no rush, so it's parked in my back garden until I either advertise it or fix the rust on it to make it an easier sale.

My question is - I transferred my insurance from the old Mini to the new one, so the old Mini has no insurance at the moment.

How do I declare the old Mini as off the road? I don't want to insure it, it's not going to go anywhere near a road.

Just found the online Sorn section of the DVLA website.

Now declared as off the road and I should get some cash back, unless they fine me for for a weeks worth of no insurance.
