Purchased a nearly new Juke for Mrs Shep1001 from a main dealer in December. Identified and told them of an issue with the heated rear screen day after we got it home when we first used it, ie botton 1/3 of it did not work where the elements had been broken when they removed the original supplying dealers window sticker. Also needed to go in for some paint they did not do before collection so its taken a while to organise to get this organised.

Went to collect the car today and we are not happy. Paint job done in their body shop is piss poor, full of dust which they accept is unacceptable and will be rectified hopefully by flatting and re-polishing it. The rear screen has been repaired but looks a mess essentially they have purchased one of those liquid metal kits and re-made the circuits where the tracks have been broken, 3 lines about 12 inches long each! but you can see it a mile off against the privacy glass. I have told them the repair not acceptable and they need to replace the screen. I priced this at about £450 so there is no way I am paying for it. Had the fault been identified pre-purchase this would have been a condition of the sale or I would have walked away and purchased elsewhere.

Being Saturday afternoon there was nobody in the body shop or service team to get a definitive answer about what they are going to do. Spoke to the DP, all credit to them in accepting their work is not upto std and extending the use of their loan car. Is it reasonable to expect them to replace the screen? Anybody but Stevie wonder would have spotted it had they made the repair in this way before being sold and told them to jog on. Hoping they will just offer to replace the screen but need to understand my options in case their call on Monday goes along the lines of well we 'fixed it' thats your lot.

You can see it from the outside! never even bothered opening the door to look inside or test it, it just looked sh*t and I had spent an hour driving over to the dealer to collect the car so they got a stong but polite WTF do you think this is acceptable? to which the response was no.

Looks like most of it is in the lacquer. Poor job all round. Car had not even been cleaned, covered in cutting compound dust, polish on the plastic trims all down the side. No reason to not believe they won't sort it but it should not have happened in the first place. Poor workmanship and even worse QA.

Not allowed sadly but there aren't that many main dealers in Letchworth that sell Mazda, Nissan & Suzuki cars . I would like to give them the opportunity to put right their mistakes first and praise them for their customer service albeit second time round. Everybody makes mistakes so I would rather judge them on how they remedy things, so far so good....

Awaiting call Monday AM to discuss. No issue with the paint as this has been agreed as done to a poor std. Reason for the thread was to get an idea on what is 'acceptable' regarding the rear screen. Dealer has repaired it but it looks poor, can I insist on replacement glass as I would never have accepted the car had the fault been identified prior to collection & signing the paperwork had it been 'repaired' and presented in its current condition.

So they state this in black and white on their webpage

Take em to task and request that it is sorted. the botch on the rear screen - the screen is not to original standards and the repair with silver paint should only be used for small breaks and not long sections of missing element.....
Highly visible and not what I would call a small break.....
