I have a bit of a dilemma here and wondered what the general consensus was.

I have dashcam footage from Saturday showing the driver of a Bentley Continental GT crossing the hatchings and cutting up a Range Rover whilst coming off the A3 northbound at Cobham.

Now I could put it on youtube and alert the police to the footage, but not sure whether I should or not.

Well he did cut a few people up, and judging from the standard of driving I saw in my rear view mirror, I would say it was a fairly normal manouvre for him...

Isn't there a website in England that allows you to upload such footage and report the driver?
I think these guys like to do that.
http://policewitness.com/report-incident/
They seem to charge for their services

I've only uploaded a few videos to you tube when I started using my phone as a dash cam...then realised I was becoming "one of them" yikes

That's the thing, do I want to become one of "them"?

Don't think he liked the fact I had left him for dead coming up the slip road from the M25. I do have the dashcam footage of his manoeuvre and am tempted to forward it to the police...
You'd better edit out the bit where you were racing...
I was accelerating up to motorway speed winkhehe

I think unless it was seriously dangerous or an accident I'd not bother.
TBH I consider this one of the most dangerous moves, and IIRC carries a 6 point licence bonus to indicate the severity.

What do people reckon? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTrcZe576v4
Unlisted at the mo. Better quality available, youtube downgraded it.

So the real story is "I was racing a guy in a Range Rover and probably cut him up quite badly whilst blasting off. He took offence and chased after me. I'm now too scared to leave my house in case he's out there somewhere, so I want to tell the police about his minor infraction, but need the approval of online people that I've never met."

Closer to the truth?
No. Did you even watch it? You really do come across as a bit of a muppet. I had nothing to do with the RR and only noticed the Bentley as I was manoeuvring t come off the a3.

...blooming 'eck, as if speed cameras, CCTV etc wasn't enough we have to live in a world where any transgression is recorded and dumped on the web for everyone to see Forever...yep you are 'one of them'. I think you should get back to a bit of curtain twitching just in case someone drops some litter
The fact he is potentially a Chelsea player may be clouding my judgement on this...

I have seen plenty of transgressions since I got the dashcam, but this was the first one that made me think of reporting someone due to the nature of the manoeuvre.

No I didn't watch it. I'll accept I put RR when it should've been a Bentley in my post.

However, I'm bored of the sanctimonious attitude of the ever increasing dashcam brigade on here. You need to think about the adage that goes something like "anyone who drives slower than me is an idiot amd anyone who drives faster than me is a maniac." Can you tell that the Bentley wasn't undertaking a perfectly safe ofpvertake when the RR driver decided to speed up, leaving the Bently driver nowhere to go amd he did a solid manoeuvre by speeding up and getting Infront before the hatchings ended?

What is it about those of you woth dashcams that sudden,y makes you the arbiters of traffic standards?
Watch the footage, it is only 56s after all, and then come back with your answers.

There was no "perfectly safe overtake" at all.

It's a pretty st piece of driving but worse happens all the time. I very much doubt Dibble will be interested.
This is the sort of answer I was looking for. I thought the dibble hated hatch crossing.

Fair question methinks. Failed the police entry exam maybe ?
Been in the army, couldn't earn what I do now in the police. Did think about being a HATO at one point but had points on my licence.

Would you of reported it without a dashcam? If not then it wasn't dangerous enough to bother.

Before dash cams if someone's driving was dangerous the plod would be told and just have a quiet word. Now everyone with a dashcam thinks all should be punished. Let's hope OP ever does a slightly risk move or doesn't signal and that person just reports it without asking a forum.
If you thought it dangerous enough to bother & didn't have a dashcam there'd be little point in reporting it.
The fact people have the dashcam means they'll bother reporting it now because they believe there is a point as something is more likely to be done about it.
This. If I didn't have a dashcam there would be no evidence and I sure as fk wouldn't remember the number plate.

What point does he have? I was asking for an opinion on whether to report it or not. I felt it was particularly dangerous, but have removed the footage from general viewing after taking peoples opinions into consideration.

Were you caught on camera?
3 points by unmarked police car on a14, 6 points by cop hiding behind a wall with a speedgun biggrin

You're making something out of not a lot and sticking your nose in.

You weren't even the victim of the lane changer. It didn't seem the RR driver made much of an issue and he got into lane and carried on.

On the other hand you chopped and changed lanes to speed up and catch the Bentley driver and took yourself away from where you were going.

Strange that you have more of an issue with the situation than the victim has.

When you make an error, are you going to run down the cop shop and hand yourself in?
I was turning right at the roundabout and in no way "chopped and changed lanes" to catch up the BCGT driver. I don't know where you have got that impression from you weirdo.

Impressive tally for someone sitting on a very high horse, what's the weather like up there?
mighty fine actually.

Did you actually read the op? I was asking for opinions, not judgements. I will post up my undertake of someone doing 65 in the outside lane of the m25 not 5 minutes before if that makes you feel better. I havent reported this to the police, I was asking what other people would do. Now I know how many retards who are up their own rectums there are in this sub forum, I am gonna stay out of it and leave you all to your own jerkcircle.

He didn't like the answers he was getting so pulled it.

Usual scenario, post video and ask for opinions, don't get the answer you want, delete video, throw insults and then hide.

OP, be man enough to post it up again if you've nothing to hide. It's no big deal.
Actually, I asked if people would report it, overiding opinion that they wouldn't, made it private so as not to incriminate the driver of the BCGT. I have nothing to hide except the identity of the BCGT driver.
