How to check if me or my car has a recorded accident

I had a no claim, no damage accident a while back and now my insurance is up for renewal. In theory I should fess up to this but how do I check to see if the accident is recorded anywhere? Police stopped for 30 seconds, accepted the 'just a little bump, no damage officer' and went on their way.
