No Parking on Footway
Discussion
I have moved recently, and am curious about the parking restrictions on my road (Gravesham Council area).
There is a single yellow line on my side, indicating a parking restriction of some sort. On a post nearby is a small sign with a "No Stopping" roundel, and the wording "At any time on verge or footway". The road is urban, paved, with paved footpaths either side.
My initial interpretation was that, as long as I am parked on the carriageway and not on the footway, that's OK but, as this isn't a restriction that I'm familiar with, I thought I'd ask for others' thoughts on this. Is the restriction as simple as it sounds?
