Sorry - best online payment method?

Selling a mountain bike on Facebook - someone is interested and wants it posting to his friends house so his wife doesn't find out!

He has offered to either paypal or bank transfer.

What other precautions to take? It's £620 so not something I can afford to lose!

I thought you couldn't but my dad said you can!? I would rather accept a bank transfer I think - not bothered if he has my account/sort.

I have stalked him on Facebook and he seems legit with a lot of biking pictures!

No he is a good 4 hr round trip away.

I am going to the bank tomorow so see what they recomend

I was apologising for asking a question that has probably been asked numerous times, but my search skills were missing at the time.

I went to the bank this morning - they said a commercial bacs is reversible in some situations. A cash payment transfer (he goes to the counter and pays cash into your account) is non reversible.

The person has transferred the money and it is showing in my account.
