DVLA admin error on new car tax/reg. transfer

I bought a new car last month from a dealer & as part of the process the dealer kindly sent off the transfer details & by checking the online DVLA function regularly I noted that my car had the reg. swap undertaken 4 days later...result! I taxed my new car online before I collected it & to make sure the reg.transfer wasn't delayed.
However, I received a final notice at the weekend from the DVLA that my new car was untaxed! Fortunately I'd kept the online notification & when I called the DVLA they said there was an error with their system which had caused the error. The error somewhat dented the great service of the transfer but be aware in case you find yourself in the same situation.
