As per the title. My girlfriend just texted me saying she's panicking about having been doing close to 40 (in what is normally a 40 limit) which had been reduced by signs to 20mph because of no road markings. She's been passed about 18/19 months and has had no issues with points etc. so far.

Assuming that the mobile van applies the 20 limit and not the 40 one, will it be looked on any differently to breaking the limit in a non-reduced zone?

If not, is she likely to get 6 points (and a re-test needed) rather than 3?

No, it's a back road between Doncaster and South Elmsall - not built up. It had no markings/had had some resurfacing work recently, I think. In fact, the regular limit may be 50 - she was unclear in her message.

Sounds like an advisory 20 to me - if it's for chippings. Don't think they are enforceable.

This one of them roadworks resurfacing with an advisory 20?
I think so. I'm going to go look at it myself tonight to see. She said that some traffic around her was doing her speed but some were slower.
