Caught speeding 85 in a 30
Discussion
Hi guy's, Got caught speeding over 8 and a half months ago, I was caught doing 85mph in a 30 I know it was daft but i didn't see the Mobile speed van and it was local and never at all been in that spot before,
Anyways i received a NIP within 2 working days, But the car was in my dads name so i re sent the NIP as me driving the car, Got the new NIP back in my name.
Been 8 months since i last received any letters from them, I have not received anymore letters after i re sent my NIP it's easily been over 6 months and no court date or anything have they forgot about me ? i doubt it very much but i can dream right lol
What do you guys think is going to happen to me ? I've never been caught speeding been driving for 7 years I just really messed up big time
From what I've read i guess i will receive a 57 day ban or could they put the hammer down on me and give me a 6months ban ?

Hopefully they give you the biggest ban possible. No excuse for 85 in a 30. Absolute idiot.
Not really. I can think of a 30 limit to a small town where the traffic flow is 50 and going up hill. It's quite wide, if you had a reasonably powerful car or modest bike 90 wouldn't be a problem at all, or dangerous. 90 outside my house would be tricky, even in the wee small ours due to the nature of the road no matter what the speed limit was. There are now an awful lot of speed limits that in no way reflect the road they are on.
That's all beside the point though, it was 85 in a 30!

He's even forgotten what he posted last time:

This speeding NIP from "eight and a half months ago" wasn't in evidence six months ago:

I wonder if he's still fronting his insurance? That's if he's old enough to drive yet, of course.Evolved said:

This issue is that the knives are already out out for him because 30 means built up area, kids, fluffy bunnies when in reality it now means there might be a house 200 yards away from the road. There are 30 limits and 30 limits. If the OP can get up to 85 (probably showing 90), the limit is probably a lot too low. Willy Nilly said:

I've been driving for almost 8 years buddy i highly doubt that I'm going to a young offenders when I'm 24 years old. SonicShadow said:

I saw a camera van collecting cash on the A11 dual carriageway once where some idiot had started a temporary 30 limit a full two miles from some roadworks. It was a perfectly normal 70mph rated road but with some cones off the carriageway either side maybe 20 metres apart.Vehicle speeds were between the 25mph speed limit nazis you get in Norfolk and the normal 80+ drivers you get on any other normal bit of dual carriageway.
So sorry but you've made a bit of an idiot of yourself making your post. Unless you were there and know the circumstances. Were you there??

What can i say i messed up big time and the speedo was easily showing 100mph + as i was going down hill and braked as hard as i could.Haters are going to hate I admit I was very stupid and shouldn't of ever done that kind of speed in a 30mph zone it was ridiculous and I am going to pay the price for doing it lol
But maybe it's gave me the wake up call i needed.
