Who can be a registered keeper?
Discussion
My friend has just bought a new van and the dealer has registered it in his sole trader company name. She did this without asking and he just got the V5 today. Vehicle is not due till next week.
I know a ltd company can own a car but a sole trade name is not an entity so short of adding a keeper onto the V5 is there anything he can do about this?
His insurance surely will require the van to be in his name too I would think?
Any advice?

He was never asked, apparently someone in the admin department decided to look at his business name and then stick that on as the registered keeper.
On the positive side though, after a phone call to the DVLA they advised that the original RK can be changed without adding an extra owner as long as the dealership wrote a letter to say they had made an error.
The dealership eventually agreed to do this.
