The new Average speed cameras on the A40 /westway West Lond

These are starting on first sep from the Polish War memorial Hillingdon right through to and including the Westway ( if anyone knows the area) Thing is for example if you go through the first one at The Polish and come off at say hanger lane or maybe before ie northolt or greenford or perivale can it still determine your av speed?? As we know on Motorways there is a beginning and an end usually. Any thoughts?

Fergus ,havent been up there yet ,but you say Northolt I understand from the Polish at Ruislip? ..anyway ill see soon enough...be careful I believe it was from first sep but the SIGNS are up ive been told which means they can legally have you!!

Appropiate signage is allready up,youd be mad to ignore it !!

Ok,a member of my local forum ,seems very clued up ,he says they are going live 21st Aug,me Im not taking any chances before though.

Re the poster now going to use the M4...im not saying do it,I dont but I was a passenger in my old MDs car was coming in and he was passing the 60 mph cameras at 80 plus and well over the 40 mph one further towards London around heathrow/brentford ,I said are you mad ,he said hes been doing it for years they are not in use.There you go

,Several sets of cameras and if you go over the average speed of say cameras 3 and 4 you are done,,that is why turning off to go to say northolt or greenford as opposed to going passed the last one on the Paddington turn off wont help you

It has to be said that if there were no cameras on the N circ between hanger Lane and Bounds green that would be a racetrack with I reckon some nasty consequences

My first speeding points were on the western ave Acton 2am in the morning 46 in the 40 had never seen them before it was 1995 so I know what you mean.

Ive just come back to london via A40..unless they up the signage if you dont watch forums like this,then I think a lot are going to be caught.So its 50 around Ruislip yet The Westway is 40mph,crazy and all very frustrating when empty roads
