Posting this out of interest chaps.

My wife and I recently spent a small fortune on a pram and integrated car seat. We bought the items though Boots but noticed that the car seat's 'raspberry' colour was a different shade from the raspberry pram colour - which are supposed to be an exact colour match. Boots referred us to the manufacturer who, after several weeks of complaints, calls and e-mails from my wife, finally made a gesture of goodwill today (a free parasol and changing bag).

The initial complaint revolved around the colour mismatch but with the customer service being shocking from what is a multi-million pound company, the content of the complaint revolved around the colour mismatch and a lack of communication from the company etc.

During two calls, the company has acknowledged that the colour mismatch is a major issue for them and they have effectively known about it for some time. This is despite the fact that there is no warning that there may be an issue on their own or any third party websites.

They even advised that the parasol and bag might not match the original items and that they would replace them with the black version if necessary. A good outcome for us in that we have saved £70 but I can't believe that a company of this caliber would continue to sell what they recognise as faulty items.

Are they in effect breaking the law by continuing to knowingly sell the items in question?

I'm sorry, but don't you have anything better to do?
How ironic.

I'll edit the topic you bunch of smart arses...it is supposed to be an exact colour match.

If I spend £1k on two items that are supposed to be interchangeable and match then I don't think I'm being unreasonable for expecting them to do just that.

And if I can take action to ensure that other people don't have the same problem then I would do so.

Shoot me now.

Too many people on here lurking to do nothing more than show their ignorance.

If it was someone asking about the £1k paint on their car after the manufacturer acknowledged a fault in the colour, I wonder if you would all be so quick.

Of course you would, such is the way PH has gone during my short stay.

Much ado about nothing. If your not happy take it back, and get one that is matched. I'm sure the retailer would love to get rid of you.

It's not really a safety issue.
Love to get rid of me. What are you talking about? You speak like you have never had cause for complaint.

Nobody said it was a safety issue. The manufacturer used the term 'manufacturing fault' not me. Anyway, you're wrong, the manufacturer advised they cannot guarantee a colour match given the number of faulty examples out there.

ps. it's you're.

HTH.

Why? It took me just a few seconds to ask a genuine question. In your position, though I wouldn't waste a grand on a pram/car seat in the first place, I certainly wouldn't waste what is clearly a lot of time and energy on such a trivial matter.

I really wouldn't.
Why would any of that matter to me? Are you as ignorant to your family or work colleagues? Manners cost nothing.

I agree with my brother, Realist.

The appropriate amount of sympathy for your ridiculous over-reaction is best illustrated thus;

My ridiculous over-reaction? In what way did I over-react?

If this thread is not a spoof then I want to stab myself in the eyes with needles in order to stop me ever again having to see such nonsense.
From an intelligent man, I fail to see where you are coming from. It may not be at the cutting edge of major world issues but £1k is a lot of money to my wife and I and as such, we expected the pram to to be as described. For such a company to say that this has been a major issue for them and that they are aware of the problem got me thinking about whether they were acting within the law to continue selling such items without making potential buyers aware of the colour match issue.

From my perspective, I'm the first to laugh at myself and poke some fun at others but my feeling is that too many of the users, both new and old alike are very quick to ridicule and or belittle others.
