Just got a letter through and Mrs has a court summons and she was caught without road tax.

Her tax ran out on end of March and she was caught at the end of May. (gawd knows know or why she didn't renew)

By time summons came through she had renewed tax.

What likely to be the outcome? £1000 fine??

Any input gratefully received.

I'm not making excuses for her and don't expect any sympathy. What's done is done and I'll make sure it's taken care of in the future I'm just wondering what the fine was likely to be.

We were away when the letter came through and the date the summons was for (her parents emailed and got an acknowledgement), I guess the next step is to get back in touch with the listing officer and get a new date sorted? Does she have to attend or can she plead guilty on the letter?
