2nd hand van problem

I was after a bit of advice, I just bought a 2 nd hand 2009 Astra van with 120000 on the clock, after driving it down the road the engine management light came on , rung the dealer and was told they just changed the filter needs to bed in , so I say rubbish there's a problem with a sensor or something else so they say bring it in and they get mechanic to look at it.
If it's in for repair can I hire a van and claim it back of them as I need the van for work?

I thought you had to give them an opportunity to fix it? Plus the van hire is my main concern

It's in today for them to look at, they have another van exactly the same which they are on about using parts of it.
We shall see about a loan van when we go in

Update , the van broke down today aa called and looks like head gasket problems
I spoke to dealer saying I want to reject it, he has said he has the right to sort it out with in a reasonable time before I can do this.
His mechanic has already had it once and not resolved it

I though within the first 30 days we could do this?

I looked on a site the first 30 days I can reject no questions asked after that they can repair it

Update
I ve formally rejected the van to the dealer , but he wants to take an administration fee for returning it, considering we only had a days us of it I think this is a cheek.
He also is looking into how much it will be !
Can he do this?

It's a small dealership in Kent , the only issue I can see I bought it as a business purchase .
It had done 120000 miles
