Ex-resident still using my address for...

Numerous things. Such as tax returns, mobile phone contracts and finance.
If I'd have moved in the last year, maybe I'd have that he hasn't had time to change address. But it's been 8 years.
Over the years I've returned them to sender saying he doesn't live here, I've never opened anything.
Today I received another letter, brown envelope from 'tax returned' registered in London.
I'm getting pretty sick of it to be honest. Are there any legal implications with him using my address for tax returns/Mobile bills/finance? Where do I stand if there are any comebacks? Should I just open everything and look at his stuff?
I tried to locate him but got no where, all I know is he moved to a pub fairly localish but that was 8 years ago. I can't even remember his partners name.

Yep, 8 years. Started with about 2 a month, now it's one every 6 months. But the ones we get seem to be tax related, mobile phone or finance.
I think the finance ones may have just been spam stuff.
The worst thing is that I know he is local, hopefully I'll find out where he lives and can have a word.
You sound like you sorted it pretty quick, advice taken.

I never opened them, after several it has been months without a phone one (touch wood).I just wonder because he doesn't own a property, he just uses this address.
It makes me wonder if there's others that are emailed to him that never go on paper...

It shouldn't affect your credit, but it definitely does. Try getting a mortgage or a loan or a credit card when your current property has a CCJ showing under any name at your address. It's a massive amount of hassle to prove that you are not the one culpable.
Well this is concerning...Still getting letters.
Since the last update I've received a BT phone bill (surely they realise it's not installed at my house!), another letter from a tax refund company and a pension letter from legal & general.
Emailed all the companies to inform them, BT and the tax place don't want to know as I'm not the customer.
Still awaiting a response from legal & general.
Now. I've made some enquiries and I've found out where this guy lives. Do I knock on and tell him to sort it? Post the letters? Or some other PH antics like frozen sausages in his lawn?

I doubt it. I'd be happy to take his post and point out the mistake, I'm a nice person, I just don't know if he is...?EDIT if he used to live here I think the simple mistake could be wrong. I mean who gets their new address wrong for 7 years
