My fault entirely. Saw the truvelo, checked I wasn't hurtling along at more than 30. Travelled a bit further down the wide grass verged road and spotted the 20mph sign.
Thought 20mph zones weren't policed as such.

Anyway, got a NIP from Beds Plod.

Am I likely to get a speed awareness course or 3 points on my clean licence. Not been on a course before, so clearly that's why I missed the 20mph signs..

SS2. said:
IIRC, Speed Awareness Courses for 20mph limit indiscretions is something they started rolling out across the country a couple of years ago (NSAC20).

Whilst the 27mph alleged is within the qualifying range for such a course, your chance of an invite will be zero if Bedfordshire hasn't yet adopted the scheme.

You could perhaps give AA Drivetech a call in the morning and ask them directly - 0845 345 9623.
I'll give them a call and report back.

Here's the streetview.. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8854866,-0.53807...

Serious danger here. Of being overtaken by cyclists.

They always put them where the limit is pretty much ignored as its clearly not suited to that bit of road...

It goes back to the main road, probably 3/4 mile in the opposite direction to the camera. There were a few repeaters, but there you go. Live and learn. Ridiculous really, these 20mph limits. Nobody keeps to 20mph. All brought in to win a few votes here and there.

Called the AA number mentioned earlier. Number has changed and wasn't able to talk to anyone with a brain...

That's what happens when the 'Greens" have a massive say in the running of a country. You can't even wash your car on a Sunday if I remember correctly! Odd.

Yes, was a busy schoolday that Sunday afternoon...

TBH, for all the self righteous 20mph advocates, I can't remember ever following one in these 20mph limits!

Latest update: I have been offered a course called the NSAC 20. For a bargain price I can spend just over 2 1/4 hours listening to an expert telling me how not to go so fast.

I've already got the point as the cost will be approx £90... Not quite sure how you can drag a sermon out for so long without sounding silly, but I'm sure it will be incredibly interesting and illuminating and I'll return home a changed man, eager to get my wicked Porsche on ebay and swap it out for a golf buggy for those 20mph zones.

I wouldn't get involved, just be quiet and live in awe, much easier.😄
