People of PH.

I git a parking ticket on holiday today, joy.

What I'm asking, is that as you can see in the pictures, the car is too wide to fit in the bay, and had to take up a couple of bays.

I attached a pictures of the car fitted in the bay, in the picture, I have less than 6 inches to get out, and being err... Fat I can't get out in that gap.

As I literally had no choice, and the car park was otherwise empty (one other car on level when I left, 2 when I came back) is it reasonable grounds to appeal, and has anyone had any experience with the company?

Thankssmile!

Driving nose in would've been just as bad as I was with the OH, so she would've struggled too. Plus, there is no way anyone, regardless of physical size could've got out of the car, too narrow.
Someone with a small car may have managed it, but I couldn't.
All of the bays were the same width, bar I think 1, so I thought parking in a corner on an otherwise empty floor would've caused the least hassle. So it wasn't like I was being deliberately awkward, I was trying to minimise any issues to anyone else, or my car.

Well even so, I still would've been over the line tucked up, as pictured.

That's fantastic help!
I'll send them a letter, with the pictures saying there is no way I could get out of the car with the car in the bay, so I had little choice to go over onto the bay next to mine.

Had a car parked next to mine, I would've had no way of getting into the car at all.

To clarify, I was parked over 2 bays.
I didn't take a photo of how I was parked as i didn't think to.
The car was parked with both wheels over the line by less than an inch, so a tyre width further over from where the car is pictured.

I have already said that it was across two bays, and the car was moved to show how tight it was. It was far less than a foot gap, I had about 6inches. The pictures show how little room I had, would I have used 1 bay. It's more the fact I found all the bays were the same width (bar one, which was used when I got there) and tried parking in 3 different bays all being unable to get out of the car.
I, perhaps could've let the OH out of the car and parked nose in, but to get the front in, the back would've been over the end of the bay and perhaps would've got ticketed for that.

Would it have been better to drive in, taking up one bay? Not really, as had someone parked next to me, I wouldn't have been able to get it, and got a ticket to going over the time. I parked right at the top, in the corner away from everybody else making sure that I disrupted as little people as possible. Had it been peak times, I would've parked elsewhere rather than taking up a couple of bays.

So yeah, I am "banged to rights" regarding parking across two bays, but I was asking whether it was worth appealing as the car would barely fit across two bays, let alone parking with room to get out.

One thing that hasn't been asked... How wide are the bays? Has anybody actually measured them?

The standard for a parking bay is 2.4m x 4.8m. A Megane coupe is a gnat's over 1.8m wide - 40mm narrower than a Mondeo (which is also 70mm too long for a standard bay), 100mm narrower than a 7-series (300mm too long).

I'm not quite sure how the OP's obesity would be the car park operator's fault, but...
I'm nit actually obese,just a little overweight.
The facelift Megane RS is 2037mm wide, slightly wider than a GTR. So it would still leave me with only 30cm to open the door, which isn't enough.
