Last year I got a good quote from a well known big insurer. It ends on 30th May so I was expecting letter from them soon.

"No need to do anything, we've done all the work saving you time and money" yeah right.

With another years no claims and exactly the same car and details they've come up with a quote 150% more than last year. Nothing new you might think, they expect some people won't bother looking for a better deal or switching. So I gave them a call and ask them how they came to that figure.

The response 'we don't know'

So there you have it, one of the biggest insurers in the country can't explain how they've increased my insurance by 150% in a year.

Checked this evening and got a quote £10 more from another big insurer so they've lost my business.

Got a letter this morning saying I should phone them and discuss the issue at hand. All I got was ' But sir , the terms and conditions have changed'

Then they couldn't tell me which ones had changed that affected my policy.

So I told them I went on a money saving site and told them it was £250 cheaper so why couldn't I just let the current policy run out and then renew via the comparison site.

'But sir, the terms will have changed so that will not be possible'

Ridiculous
